Sabaek for Education & Training (Bahrain)


Ostad Salem Rajab Zayed Omar, Executive Director of Sabaek for Education and Training Center (Kingdom of Bahrain), trainer and consultant in programs and activities for children, junior and youth, expert in public relations, support and community networking, and interested in foresight studies. He is also a community activist and a member of several civil society organizations. For more than 45 years, he has contributed to the design, preparation and implementation of many educational, social and cultural programs for various age groups. He also participated and headed several delegations concerned with the activities of political, sports, youth, scouting, scientific and humanitarian organizations and bodies at the GCC, Arab and international levels. He worked in several governmental and private sectors, including the University of Bahrain, the General Organization for Youth and Sports, the Science Center for Children and Youth, and Bahrain Airport Services Company (BAS).

Raşit TURAN

Raşit Turan completed B. Sc. and M. Sc. degrees at the Physics Department of Middle East Technical University (METU), Turkey. He received his Ph.D degree from University of Oslo, Norway. He worked as Post. Doc. at Linköping University, Sweden. He joined METU Physics Department as faculty member in 1991. He worked as a visiting scientist at the Material Science Department of Toronto University. His main research interests have been physics and technology of semiconductor materials and devices including solar cells. He has published more than 220 scientific papers in this field in the internationally recognized journals. Rasit Turan initiated the foundation of a national research center called Center for Solar Energy Research and Applications (GUNAM).
